John Toplikar, a candidate for Johnson County Commission chairman, wanted to vote for himself when he stood in front of the touch-screen voting machine. He touched the empty box by his name on the screen Monday but then got a big surprise. An X beside another candidate, Annabeth Surbaugh, lit up.

At a news conference Wednesday, John Toplikar a candidate for Johnson County Commission chairman, said he had problems voting for himself using a touch-screen machine.

The name of the woman killed in Saturdays fatal traffic collision is 41-year-old Isabel Renosa. She was a longtime Santa Barbara resident. The man charged with her death is Dennis Gibbons, age 53 ...not 59 as originally reported.
