Yeah, plenty.
The difference between the rounds being live and merely leaving a welt
would seem to be important. I've seen plenty of guys take a "round for
the team" on purpose. In Real War (TM), the tactics are considerably
different too. Paintballs only travel at the very most about 50 yards
with any accuracy. At that range, opposing forces would turn each other
to swiss cheese in the open.
As a training method for urban warfare, they would probably be ideal.
