What people need, or even don't need, to do is their own concern and
not yours.

Some conservative psychiatrist has written a book about how liberals
are mentally ill because they don't respect the freedom of individuals
to look after their own concerns without government poking its nose in
and dictating to them.

Conservatives are guilty of exactly the same thing, ergo
conservatives, by their own criteria, are also mentally ill.

The above is called a rational, structured argument requiring
cognitive functions and powers of comprehension in order to understand
and therefore does not compute with many conservatives. Many liberals,
too, I might add, but at least liberals don't pretend to be in favour
of individual freedom without government interference, so at least
liberals might escape the double charge of insanity plus hypocrisy.
