Like what? The bill has nothing to do with Iraq or intelligence
related to Iraq.
The reason why the bill was approved is because McConnell put his
credibility on the line.
The reason why Pelosi wants changes is because the same people that
are administering the program are the same ones who will be overseeing
it. Gee, what a bad strategy that has repeated turned out to be.
The White House wanted only AG Gonzales to oversee. The bad
compronise was to put McConnell's name on the oversite also. This
should have some independant judiciary oversite and that was the way the
bill was originally written.
The laws regarding FISA and NSA have been modified over 50 times
since their 70's inception and a dozen or so times since 9/11.
