The counties Gore ccntested in Florida were the four that voted most
heavily democrat. The election officials for those counties were chosen
by democrats. The voting system in those counties were chosen, set up,
run, counted and recounted by, guess who, democrats. Gore was basically
accusing democrats of not being fair to themselves.

The reason Gore contested those counties was a sneaky way to steal a
close election. In counties were 4 out of 5 votes are for Gore, he only
needed to squeeze another 5000 votes out for a net gain of 3000.

Notice, Gore didn't contest counties that voted most heavily democrat,
which shows he wasn't upset about cheating or unfairness, but using an
underhanded tactic to steal a close election.

The law that enables an extension for counting is meant to deal with a
natural disaster. It is not meant so one side can keep counting and
recounting until they get the result that they want. Both sides agreed
to the system in place. The most accurate and fair count was the first
one.
