I'm a competitive swimmer, remember? So falling off a pier wouldn't
change much. Global warming is changing quite a lot, though, and if we
don't begin setting up systems and technologies and government
institutions to deal with it, a human catastrophe will be the result,
and it could be a lot worse than anything al qaida could dream up.
