The media folks *REALLY* wanted a shooting war - for the
obvious reasons. I think they helped tip 'reality' and
thus public opinion to get it. Once they'd used up all
the footage of big bomb blasts, tank attacks and firefights
they needed a NEW cause, a new passion ... and switched
to being ANTI-war, re-tilting reality and opinion to
create controversy and anger they could profit from.

It's the nature of the "news" biz. Has been for a long
time. Wasn't it old man Hearst who promised to deliver
a Spanish-American war built not on facts but on mere
allegations and artistic turns of phrase - and did ?
