Huckabee is wrong. Honor isn't why a nation goes to
war, and it isn't why it stays in one. A nation should
go to war only if it's in its strategic interest. Iraq
was not and is not in our interest, and we should
withdraw now.

All this blabber about seeking honor and avoiding
dishonor, and in particular the obscene nonsense about
not dishonoring those already killed, is wrongheaded
and itself dishonorable. The soldiers already dead
died in vain; they've already been dishonored by an
administration that sent them to die for cynical
concealed reasons, and their deaths will not be
redeemed by sending still more soldiers to die.

Honor, like patriotism, is the refuge of scoundrels who
never had any. Huckabee dishonors the nation with his
filthy "stay the course" message. There is no
legitimate course to be stayed. The war was lost
before it was begun, and we're now throwing good money,
and good lives, after wasted resources. Get out now.
